Phylicia Rashad

Bio:
Phylicia Rashad (born Phylicia Ayers-Allen, in Houston, Texas, on June 19, 1948) is an American Tony Award-winning actress, singer and stage director. She first became known for her stage worked with a string of Broadway credits. Phylicia is best known for another television role, that of Clair Huxtable on the  The Cosby Show. In 2004, she became the first African-American actress to win the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play, which she won for her role in the revival of A Raisin in the Sun. In 2000, Bill Cosby asked her to work on his animated television series Little Bill, where she voiced the mother of Bill’s character.

Personal Life:
Phylicia first marriage was in 1972, to William Lancelot Bowles, Jr. The couple had one son, but the marriage ended in 1975. She then married Victor Willis of the Village People, in 1978, but they divorced in 1982. Phylicia went on to marry former NFL player and sportscaster Ahmad Rashād in 1985. They had one daughter in 1986, but later divorced in 2011.
