Benedict Cumberbatch is an English actor and producer who launched his career on the stage, performing with the New Shakespeare Company at Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park.
Benedict became a household name starring as Sherlock Holmes in the BBC hit series Sherlock, which premiered in 2010. On the big screen, he has taken on memorable roles in Amazing Grace (2006), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), 12 Years a Slave (2013), and The Fifth Estate (2013). He earned an Academy Award nomination for The Imitation Game (2014) and later joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Strange.
