Michelle Rodriguez, born on July 12, 1978, in San Antonio, Texas, is an American actress best known for becoming one of Hollywood’s most recognizable action stars. She spent parts of her childhood in Texas, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and New Jersey before pursuing an acting career. Rodriguez made her acting debut in the 2000 independent drama Girlfight, earning widespread acclaim and launching a career that has spanned more than two decades.

Since then, Rodriguez has become one of Hollywood’s most recognizable action stars, appearing in the Fast & Furious, Resident Evil and Avatar franchises, as well as films including S.W.A.T., Battle: Los Angeles, Machete, Widows and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. In 2026, she reunited with her Fast & Furious co-stars at the Cannes Film Festival to celebrate the original film’s 25th anniversary, and she is expected to reprise her role as Letty Ortiz in the franchise’s planned finale, Fast Forever.

Rodriguez has also been open about her personal life over the years. In a 2013 interview with Entertainment Weekly, she discussed her sexuality, saying, “I’ve gone both ways. I do as I please. I am too curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks.”
