1. Ashley Runs Her Own Company<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After her brother Beau died of brain cancer in 2015, Ashley started Livelihood, which produces American-made clothing, and donates the proceeds to community organizations in DC and Delaware. The brand, according to Ashley<\/a>, “is all-inclusive, non-partisan, and empowering. The goal is to educate one another about economic inequality in the United States, celebrate extraordinary everyday people, provide funding for economic advancement, restore decision making at the community level, and provide cozy, functional, and sleek hoodies.”<\/p>\n

It’s believed that Ashley will continue her business ventures with Livelihood, especially after she confirmed that she will not<\/em> hold an official job in her father’s administration during an interview with Today<\/em><\/a>, which aired ahead of the inauguration. However, Ashley hopes to use her\u00a0platform as First Daughter “to advocate for social justice, for mental health \u2014 to be involved in community development and revitalization.”\u00a0She added, “I do hope to bring awareness and education to some topics, subjects that are really important.”<\/p>\n

2. Ashley Was The Executive Director Of The Delaware Center For Justice<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ashley, who had previously served as the associate director of the nonprofit<\/a> advocacy group, worked in her role from 2014 to 2019. She was inspired by her older brother, Beau, according to Jill. “It was very important to Ashley to carry on Beau\u2019s legacy\u2014the reforms in criminal justice, his work with children,” Jill told Delaware Today<\/em><\/a> in 2018.<\/p>\n
