Alec was handling a prop gun that misfired, resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins<\/strong><\/a>. As a co-producer and star of the film, Alec was charged with involuntary manslaughter. He pleaded not guilty, and his case was dismissed days after his trial began in July 2024, avoiding up to 18 months in prison.<\/p>\n In February 2025, during the premiere of the new TLC reality series The Baldwins<\/em>, it was revealed that Alec had been diagnosed with PTSD and the emotional toll it took while trying to protect his children amidst the turmoil.
