While growing up in Los Angeles, Mikey was pursuing competitive horseback riding. But once she turned 15, that changed. &#8220;All of a sudden, I became really interested in this,&#8221; she told <em><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/2019\/04\/the-better-things-daughters-on-creating-a-tv-family.html\"  target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"noopener nofollow\"  >Vulture<\/a> <\/em>in April 2019 when asked about her origins in acting. &#8220;I\u2019m not really sure what sparked that in my head, but it did. My dad\u2019s a big film buff, so I think I acquired some of those traits.&#8221; Mikey also explained that while no one in her family was involving in acting, she &#8220;met the right people along the way and got really lucky.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>She Has 4 Siblings<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">Mikey comes from a <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/feature\/mikey-madison-brothers-sisters-5373329\/\"  target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"noopener\"  >big family<\/a>. &#8220;I have two older sisters who are in their 30s, a twin brother, and another brother,&#8221; she told <em><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/tv-shows\/why-you-should-binge-watch-better-things-over-holiday-weekend-according-mikey-madison\"  target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"noopener nofollow\"  >InStyle<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>in November 2016. &#8220;So right now I&#8217;m living with two teenage boys at home. Me and my brothers all have different personalities and we definitely clash over living together in a small space,&#8221; the actress added. The California native starred in her first feature film,\u00a0<em>Liza, Liza, Skies are Grey<\/em>, in 2015. Her next film roles were 2018&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Monster\u00a0<\/em>and <em>Nostalgia<\/em>. Mikey was part of the main cast from the show\u2019s debut in 2016 through its fifth and final season, which premiered on February 28, 2022. The series also starred <strong>Hannah Alligood<\/strong>, <strong>Olivia Edward<\/strong>, and <strong>Celia Imrie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"558\" data-end=\"960\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In an interview with <em data-start=\"579\" data-end=\"588\">InStyle<\/em>, Mikey opened up about her connection to Max: \u201cI definitely gravitate toward characters that have a lot of integrity, and it\u2019s so important to be working on shows that tell great stories,\u201d she said. \u201cI think you have to be a little in love with the character you\u2019re playing because that way you can\u2019t judge the decisions they make\u2014and that\u2019s certainly the case with Max.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>She Joined the \u2018Scream\u2019 Franchise<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"113\" data-end=\"702\">Mikey made a chilling impression when she joined the <em data-start=\"235\" data-end=\"243\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Scream<\/em> franchise as Amber Freeman in <em data-start=\"274\" data-end=\"284\">Scream 5<\/em>. A longtime fan of the horror genre, she told <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2T4QwNslzCg\"  target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"noopener\"  ><i>The\u00a0Movie Times<\/i><\/a> that she \u201cwas a big fan\u201d of the original <em data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"398\">Scream<\/em> film and was immediately drawn to the project. \u201cOne of the pitches that the directors talked to me about is that they were trying to make it feel like the original,\u201d she explained. \u201cI just loved talking to them. I had good chemistry with them right away.
