Lewis Pullman<\/strong>, 29,\u00a0is one of the stars of the new Amazon Prime Video show,\u00a0Outer Range<\/em>. The thrilling series premieres on April 15 and stars Josh Brolin<\/strong><\/a> as Royal Abbott, a Wyoming rancher who becomes involved in a supernatural mystery. Lewis plays Royal’s youngest son, Rhett. He dreams of becoming a bull rider, but finds himself entangled with a new love interest, Maria (Isabel Arraiza<\/strong>). Here’s what to know about Lewis.<\/p>\n

1. His dad is Bill Pullman.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Actor Bill Pullman<\/a><\/strong>, 68,\u00a0and modern dancer\u00a0Tamara Hurwitz\u00a0<\/strong>are Lewis’s parents. Bill’s most notable film credits include\u00a0Spaceballs<\/em>,\u00a0Sleepless in Seattles<\/em>,\u00a0Casper<\/em>,\u00a0Independence Day<\/em>, and\u00a0Lake Placid<\/em>. On television, he’s starred in\u00a01600 Penn\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Sinner<\/i>. He most recently appeared in Netflix’s\u00a0Halston<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>as business leader and author David J. Mahoney<\/strong>. Bill has also appeared in numerous Broadway productions since 2002.<\/p>\n

The first time that Bill and Lewis shared the big screen was in 2017’s\u00a0The Ballad of Lefty Brown<\/em>. The father-son duo also starred in\u00a0Battle of The Sexes<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>that same year.<\/p>\n

2. He is in a band.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lewis plays the drums for the band Atta Boy<\/a>. His band members include Josh’s daughter,\u00a0Eden Brolin<\/strong>, as well as Freddy Reish<\/strong> and Dashel Thompson<\/strong>. Their debut album,\u00a0Out of Sorts<\/em>, was released in 2012. After an eight-year hiatus, the group released their second album,\u00a0Big Heart Manners<\/em>, in 2020.<\/p>\n

3. He started acting in short films.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lewis’ first acting role was in the 2013 short film\u00a0The Tutor<\/em>. He appeared in three more short films, before making his feature film debut in\u00a0The Ballad of Lefty Brown\u00a0<\/em>with his dad. To date, Lewis’ most notable film credits not mentioned yet include\u00a0The Strangers:\u00a0Prey at Night<\/i>,\u00a0Bad Times at the El Royale<\/em>, and\u00a0Pink Skies Ahead<\/em>.<\/p>\n

4. ‘Outer Range’ isn’t his first TV show.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Catch-22<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>was actually the first television series that Lewis appeared in for more than one episode. He played Major Major Major Major in the Hulu series, which is based on Joseph Heller’<\/strong>s 1961 novel set during World War II.\u00a0Christopher Abbott<\/strong>,\u00a0Kyle Chandler<\/strong>, Hugh Laurie<\/strong>, and George Clooney<\/strong> also starred in the show. It aired in May 2019 for six episodes.<\/p>\n

5. He’s in the new ‘Top Gun’ film.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lewis is apart of the\u00a0Top Gun Maverick<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>cast, alongside Tom Cruise<\/strong>, Miles Teller<\/strong>, Jennifer Connelly<\/strong>, Jon Hamm,<\/strong> Ed Harris<\/strong>, Val Kilmer<\/strong>, and more. He’s playing pilot trainee Lieutenant Bob Floyd.
