Though the band &#8212; <strong><a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/chris-martin\/\"  >Chris Martin<\/a>, Johnny Buckland<\/strong>, <strong>Guy Berryman, Will Champion, <\/strong>and <strong>Phil Harvey<\/strong> \u2013 has shifted away from its post-grunge, alternative nation sounds to more pop-based music, the group is still a celebrated band who had a hand in shaping rock music for the decades that followed. And that impact can be seen in the group&#8217;s track record at the <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/tag\/grammy-awards\/\"  >Grammys Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-3\">Though the band&#8217;s &#8220;wins to nominations&#8221; ratio is a touch off-kilter \u2013 a total of 7 wins with 34 nominations \u2013 they have managed to take home some major awards. They&#8217;re also primed to add to that number as they head into the 65th Grammy Awards on Feb. 5. It will compete against <strong>ABBA<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Voyage, <\/em><strong>Adele<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>30, <\/em>Beyonc\u00e9&#8217;s <em>Renaissance<\/em>, <strong>Bad Bunny<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Un verano sin ti<\/em>, <strong>Mary J. Blige<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Good Morning Gorgeous<\/em>, <strong>Brandi Carlile<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>In These Silent Days<\/em>, <strong>Kendrick Lamar<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Mr. Morale &amp; The Big Steppers<\/em>, <strong>Lizzo<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Special<\/em>, and <strong>Harry Style<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Harry&#8217;s House<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Best Pop Vocal Album<\/strong>: In what seems to be a truncated list from the Album of the Year category, Coldplay&#8217;s <em>Music Of The Spheres <\/em>was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, along with the abovementioned albums from ABBA, Adele, Lizzo, and Harry Styles.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Best Pop Duo\/Group Performance<\/strong>: It would have been awkward if <strong>BTS <\/strong>won its first Grammy from a collaboration with Coldplay, but the group had a 20% chance of winning. Their song, &#8220;My Universe,&#8221; is up for Best Pop Duo\/Group Performance and battles <strong>ABBA<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;Don&#8217;t Shut Me Down,&#8221; <strong>Camila Cabello <\/strong>and <strong>Ed Sheeran<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;Bam Bam.&#8221; <strong>Post Malone <\/strong>and <strong>Doja Cat<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;I Like You (A Happier Song)&#8221; and &#8220;Unholy&#8221; by <strong>Sam Smith <\/strong>and <strong>Kim Petras<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">However, Coldplay got shut out. The group&#8217;s debut album beat <strong>Radiohead<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Amnesiac<\/em>, <strong>Fatboy Slim<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Halfway Between The Gutter and the Stars<\/em>, <strong>Bj\u00f6rk<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Vespertine<\/em>, and <strong>Tori Amos<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Strange Little Girls<\/em> for the win.<\/p>\n<h3>Best Alternative Music Album \u2013 &#8216;A Rush of Blood to the Head&#8217; (2003)<\/h3>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-7\">Coldplay went back-to-back in the Best Alternative Music Album category, winning the award for <em>A Rush of Blood To The Head<\/em>. In March, Coldplay heads down to do a run of shows in Brazil. In May, they head to Europe for a tour that keeps them overseas until the end of July.
