Disney CEO <strong>Bob Iger<\/strong> announced <em>Frozen 3<\/em> during the Walt Disney Company&#8217;s Q1 earnings call on February 8, according to <a  href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/02\/frozen-toy-story-zootopia-sequels-in-the-works-bob-iger-disney-earnings-1235253824\/\"  target=\"_blank\"  ><em>Deadline<\/em><\/a>. Prepare yourselves for more epic musical moments in the upcoming threequel.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-3\">The exciting news about <em>Frozen 3<\/em> comes a decade after the first <em>Frozen<\/em> movie hit theaters. Here&#8217;s everything we know so far about what lies ahead for our favorite <em>Frozen<\/em> friends.<\/p>\n<h2>Is <em>Frozen 3<\/em> Coming Out?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">Yes, <em>Frozen 3<\/em> will be coming out in theaters. However, the new sequel is in the early stages of development, so Disney hasn&#8217;t revealed a release date or when filming will start as of yet. Following the earnings call, Frozen songwriter<strong> Kristen Anderson-Lopez<\/strong> <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Lyrikris10\/status\/1623530005153083393\"  target=\"_blank\"  >tweeted<\/a>, &#8220;It&#8217;s true. Here we gooooo!&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s true.  Here we gooooo! <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lPHvgT1LMI\"  rel=\"nofollow\"  target=\"_blank\"  >https:\/\/t.co\/lPHvgT1LMI<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">&mdash; Kristen Anderson-Lopez (@Lyrikris10) <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Lyrikris10\/status\/1623530005153083393?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\"  target=\"_blank\"  >February 9, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-7\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-8\">After the release of <em>Frozen 2<\/em> in 2019, <strong>HollywoodLife<\/strong> spoke EXCLUSIVELY to director <strong>Jennifer Lee<\/strong> about the <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2019\/12\/09\/frozen-3-kristen-bell-director-jennifer-lee-interview-sequel\/\"  >possibility of a third film<\/a>. &#8220;As of now I feel done, but I\u2019m also very tired, so ask me in a year,\u201d Jennifer told HL. \u201cThe thing about <em>Frozen 2<\/em> is it only came about because we said there is more story here. The girls have never been together. I want to see that. What is Elsa\u2019s journey? Why does she have powers? Chris and I had so many questions, and the world was asking them, and we naively went, \u2018Let\u2019s do it!\u2019 \u00a0We had no idea what we were doing. We went into the unknown ourselves, and I\u2019m glad we did, but it was so much harder to do <em>[Frozen] 2<\/em> than it was to do <em>[Frozen] 1<\/em>. \u00a0I can only imagine what <em>[Frozen] 3<\/em> would be, how much harder that would be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\">Just a few short years later and post-pandemic, Disney thinks there&#8217;s more story to tell with the <em>Frozen<\/em> characters. In addition to <em>Frozen 3<\/em>, Disney also announced <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/feature\/toy-story-5-4567305\/\"  ><em>Toy Story 5<\/em> <\/a>and <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/feature\/zootopia-2-5026523\/\"  ><em>Zootopia 2<\/em><\/a>. Sequels are almost always a win for Disney.<\/p>\n<h2><em>Frozen 3<\/em> Cast<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-10\"><em>Frozen 3<\/em> would likely see the returns of the core<em> Frozen<\/em> cast: <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/tag\/idina-menzel\/\"  ><strong>Idina Menzel<\/strong><\/a> as Elsa, <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/tag\/kristen-bell\/\"  ><strong>Kristen Bell<\/strong><\/a> as Anna, <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/tag\/jonathan-groff\/\"  ><strong>Jonathan Groff<\/strong><\/a> as Kristoff, and <strong>Josh Gad<\/strong> as Olaf. But I know Idina [Menzel] recently said she would do it. And I feel like if we\u2019re all in, like, what are we waiting for? We want it. Let\u2019s do it,&#8221; Kristen said on <em>The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon<\/em> in June 2022. At the time, Jonathan could only say, &#8220;I know nothing.&#8221; Jonathan reunited with his <em>Frozen<\/em> co-stars as they were <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2022\/09\/10\/frozen-cast-reunion-d23-photos\/\"  >honored as Disney Legends<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cIt&#8217;s always just incredibly joyful and special and Idina and Kristen and Josh and I, we\u2019re just bonded for life because of this film. And beyond our lives. I mean, [<em>Frozen<\/em>] is gonna outlast the four of us. And so we always savor the time that we get together,&#8221; Jonathan said about the reunion.<\/p>\n<h2>Will Elsa Get A Girlfriend In <em>Frozen 3<\/em>?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-14\">That remains to be seen. <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2019\/11\/14\/idina-menzel-elsa-finding-love-female-character-frozen-2-interview\/\"  >Elsa&#8217;s love life<\/a> has been the subject of major debate since the first movie was released. Many fans have campaigned to give Elsa a girlfriend, and there&#8217;s a popular theory that we&#8217;ve already met her eventual female love interest in Honeymaren, who is introduced in <em>Frozen 2<\/em>.
