In a February 2024 Instagram post, the <em>Mean Girls<\/em> star revealed that she was &#8220;officially returning to Motonui&#8221; in a video. \u201cWe\u2019re sailing WAY beyond the reef this November\u2026\u201d she captioned the post.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\">Auli&#8217;i previously told <strong>Hollywood Life<\/strong> in an <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2020\/03\/10\/aulii-cravalho-moana-live-action-movie\/\"  target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"noopener\"  >exclusive interview<\/a> in March 2020 that she&#8217;d gladly play Moana for a live-action remake. &#8220;The film came out when <span class=\"il\">I<\/span> was sixteen, and <span class=\"il\">I<\/span> am 19 now. <span class=\"il\">I<\/span> would be more than happy to see someone else play that role, and\u00a0<span class=\"il\">if<\/span>\u00a0it were to fall to me\u00a0<span class=\"il\">I<\/span> would do my absolute best as possible,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-10\">Any of the\u00a0<em>Moana\u00a0<\/em>voice cast could return for the remake.
