The highly-anticipated film<em> The Exorcist: Believer<\/em> will be coming to theaters this October to scare a new generation of horror fans. From the cast to what the movie&#8217;s about, <strong>HollywoodLife<\/strong> has rounded up everything you need to know about<em> The Exorcist: Believer<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2><em>The Exorcist: Believer<\/em> Release Date<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\"><em>The Exorcist: Believer<\/em> will be released on October 13. The release date also happens to fall on a Friday, which ups the scary factor even more. The sequel&#8217;s release date culminates with the 50th anniversary of <em>The Exorcist<\/em>, which hit theaters on December 26, 1973, and grossed more than $400 million at the box office.<\/p>\n<h2><em>The Exorcist: Believer<\/em> Cast<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\"><strong>Ellen Burstyn<\/strong> is reprising the iconic role of Chris MacNeil for the first time since the 1973 film. Executive producers include David, Danny, <strong>Stephanie Allain<\/strong>, <strong>Ryan Turek<\/strong>, and <strong>Atilla Yucer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>What Will <em>The Exorcist: Believer<\/em> Be About?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\">The official synopsis for the film reads: &#8220;Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding has raised their daughter, Angela, on his own. The footage shows Angela and Katherine going missing and the mayhem that ensues when they return. There&#8217;s a particularly terrifying scene when Katherine walks into a crowded church covered in blood. She says &#8220;body and the blood&#8221; over and over again.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-11\">Chris MacNeil is summoned to help try to save Angela and Katherine from this possession. &#8220;Exorcism is a ritual. Every culture, every religion, all use different methods. It&#8217;s going to take all of them,&#8221; she says. Chris shares an intense scene with a possessed Katherine. &#8220;Don&#8217;t be scared,&#8221; Katherine mutters. Chris replies, &#8220;We&#8217;ve met before.&#8221; Katherine whispers, &#8220;Mother.&#8221; In the final moments of the trailer, Angela and Katherine are bound together, and their hearts begin to beat in sync. &#8220;God played a trick on you,&#8221; Angela says.<\/p>\n<h2>Will Linda Blair Return As Regan?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-12\">That remains to be seen. Universal Pictures has not officially confirmed whether or not Regan MacNeil will appear in <em>The Exorcist: Believer<\/em>. Back in March 2023, <a  href=\"https:\/\/abovetheline.com\/2023\/03\/23\/linda-blair-exorcist-return-rean-macneil-david-gordon-green-blumhouse\/\"  rel=\"nofollow\"  target=\"_blank\"  ><em>Above The Line<\/em><\/a> reported that <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/pics\/linda-blair-exorcist-actress-young-photos\/\"  ><strong>Linda Blair<\/strong><\/a> would be reprising her role as Regan in the sequel. Regan was at the heart of<em> The Exorcist<\/em> and ultimately survived her possession. So we\u2019ve got a ways to go on that, but we know where we\u2019re going.\u00a0It\u2019s a new journey [with] some familiar characters and some new ones as well,&#8221; the director told <a  href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/new-exorcist-movies-david-gordon-green-trilogy-script\/\"  target=\"_blank\"  ><em>Collider<\/em><\/a> in 2021.
