Since Jon hosts <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/feature\/the-daily-show-new-host-4862227\/\"  ><em>The Daily Show<\/em><\/a> alongside <strong>Jordan Klepper, Ronny Chieng, Jon Stewart, Desi Lydic, Michael Kosta<\/strong> and several other correspondents, Comedy Central fans are afraid that its parent company, Paramount Global, might cancel the show as well. And in the wake of <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/jimmy-kimmel\/\"  ><strong>Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong><\/a>&#8216;s <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/feature\/is-jimmy-kimmel-canceled-5455625\/\"  >suspension<\/a> by Disney&#8217;s ABC, it appears that anything can happen in the late-night comedy world.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\">Adding more fuel to the firestorm were Jon&#8217;s podcast comments about <em>The Daily Show<\/em>&#8216;s fate. The comedian admitted that he and his colleagues hadn&#8217;t even heard from Skydance Media, the company that Paramount Global merged with.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">Below, get updates on the status of <em>The Daily Show.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1pQWOtU4vMw?version=3&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<h2>Has <em>The Daily Show<\/em> Been Canceled?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">No, <em>The Daily Show<\/em> has not been canceled, but fans are afraid it will be now that Paramount Global merged with Skydance Media and amid the shocking termination of <em>The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Will Jon Stewart Get Fired From <em>The Daily Show<\/em>?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-7\">Comedy Central has not fired Jon from <em>The Daily Show<\/em>, nor its other hosts and comedians, but Jon was asked about the show&#8217;s fate during an episode of his podcast hours before Stephen announced his show&#8217;s imminent end.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-8\">&#8220;Boy, that\u2019s a good question,&#8221; Jon said. &#8220;Unfortunately, we haven\u2019t heard anything from them [Skydance Media]. They haven\u2019t called me and said like, \u2018Don\u2019t get too comfortable in that office, Stewart!&#8217; &#8230;\u00a0I\u2019ve been kicked out of sh***er establishments than that. We\u2019ll land on our feet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\">However, the veteran comedian acknowledged that he &#8220;honestly [doesn&#8217;t] know&#8221; the future of <em>The Daily Show<\/em> but added,\u00a0&#8220;I\u2019d like to believe that&#8230; Like, without<em> The Daily Show<\/em>, Comedy Central is kind of like muzak at this point. I think we\u2019re the only sort of life that exists on a current basis other than <em>South Park<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-10\">Jon pointed out he thinks their show &#8220;bring[s] enough value&#8221; to Comedy Central but admitted &#8220;that may not be their consideration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-11\">Only time will tell what will happen to <em>The Daily Show.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AuqEZx6TmfI?version=3&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<h2>Why Was <em>The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/em> Canceled?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-12\">CBS executives insisted that <em>The Late Show<\/em> is ending due to financial reasons.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-13\">&#8220;<span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night,&#8221; their statement read. &#8220;It is not related in any way to the show\u2019s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-14\">However, critics and some public figures questioned if <em>The Late Show<\/em>&#8216;s cancelation was connected to CBS&#8217; <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2025\/05\/19\/who-is-wendy-mcmahon\/\"  >$16 million settlement<\/a> with <a  href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/donald-trump\/\"  ><strong>Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>.
