Alysa Liu<\/strong><\/a> won the Breakthrough Athlete award and thanked her team in her speech.<\/p>\n“First of all, I\u2019m really honored to be given this award,\u201d Alysa said at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, New York City, during the July 15 ceremony. \u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve been in my sport since I was 5 years old, and I had some really rough times in it, I took two years off. So, for me, this really feels like I broke through in my own way, for myself, and for my sport. I love being an athlete, I couldn\u2019t have done it without my team.\u201d<\/p>\n
