Irish actor, Patrick Bergin, has opened up about his devastation over the death of his brother, Emmet, as he described him as his “inspiration.”
The Glenroe star died suddenly last Friday.
Paying tribute to his beloved brother, Patrick said: “Sharing the sad passing of our brother Emmet who was an inspiration and a great man.

“Love you Emmet. RIP,” he wrote on Facebook alongside a picture of his brother.
Born in Dublin, Emmet played the part of silver fox Dick Moran in Glenroe, which started in 1983.
After the show ended in 2001, he went on to play the role of Aengus Fanning in the 2003 biographical crime film about journalist Veronica Guerin. Bergin was also known for playing the role of Ulfus in the 1981 fantasy film Excalibur. He also voiced radio advertisements for The Irish Times in the 1980s.
Emmet is survived by his wife Sarah and his children, Gavan and Tara.
