Benjamin Mendy is set to launch a multi-million-pound lawsuit against his former side Manchester City for ‘unauthorised deductions from wages.’
According to Sky Sports, Mendy has filed the claim with the Employment Tribunal.
The 29-year-old was found not guilty, earlier this year, after being charged with rape and sexual assault back in 2021, the jury were unable to reach verdicts on the two charges, resulting in a retrial.

Mendy was released by City earlier this year when his contract ran out after being suspended by the club back in September 2021.
The former Monaco and Marseille defender returned to France in the summer, signing for Ligue 1 side FC Lorient and has made three appearances so far this season.
Nick De Marco KC says he is now representing the player and released a statement to Sky Sports News.
It read: "Nick De Marco KC (instructed by Laffer Abogados (Madrid) is acting for the former Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy in a multi-million-pound claim for unauthorised deductions from wages.

"Manchester City FC failed to pay Mr Mendy any wages at all from September 2021, following Mr Mendy being charged with various offence all of which he was subsequently acquitted of, until the end of his contract in June 2023. The claim will come before an Employment Tribunal."
Sky Sports News said they have contacted Manchester City for a response but have not received one.
