Conor McGregor issues three-word put-down of Simon Harris after Tánaiste's criticism
McGregor slammed the Tánaiste after the United States announced a new tariff on the pharmaceutical sector.
Conor McGregor has taken aim at Simon Harris after the Tánaiste said the Irishman "represents the worst of us."
In an interview with Sky news, the Tánaiste was asked about the Trump administration's very public support of McGregor, who has taken numerous shots at Harris on social media in recent months.
"Conor McGregor represents the very worst of us and doesn't represent Irish values, to be very clear on that," said Harris, before explaining how Ireland's relationship with America is deeper than just one person.
The Tánaiste is currently in the United States to hold trade talks with the Trump administration, and this morning, President Trump announced that the US would be imposing a 100% tariff on "branded" or "patented" pharmaceutical products on companies that do not manufacture in the US or are not in the process of building a manufacturing plant in America.
This has the potential to have a big impact on Ireland, as large amounts of US pharma companies operate in the country.
Quote-tweeting President Trump's X announcement, UFC star McGregor simply wrote "Simon Harris, worthless" in a thinly veiled dig at the Tánaiste as he continues his trade mission in America.
McGregor and Harris have gone back and forth in recent months, with the MMA star repeatedly attacking Harris online, particularly during his short run for the Irish Presidency.
Since abandoning his bid for office, McGregor has seemingly returned to MMA training in preparation for next year's UFC event to be held at the White House.
