As summer is officially coming to an end and we try and keep up with all the new shows we need to watch including X Factor and Killing Eve let's not forget about the good old classics such as The Apprentice.

The business show has now officially returned to take us all the way to Christmas with the gruelling challenges of bartering, cringey adverts and business plan interviews. So when exactly is the show on, what are the tasks and who is joining Lord Sugar on the board?

What is The Apprentice about?

The Apprentice is a reality show on BBC One in which Lord Sugar - billionaire business mogul worth £1.4bn - attempts to find a business partner he can invest £250,000 in. He sets tough challenges to highlight skills on negotiation, selling, advertising and creativity before choosing the candidate with the total package at the end of the series to go into business with. Although last year, Lord Sugar made history choosing two business partners .

When is The Apprentice back on TV?

The Apprentice started on BBC One on October 3 at 9pm for its fourteenth series. It will air for a total of 12 episodes with the usual spin-off episodes including Meet The Candidates and The Final Five.

Lord Sugar broke the news on his official Twitter account.

He also shared a joke letter claiming to be from his nemesis Piers Morgan along with some 'official' merchandise.

2018 will be the show's 14th season - with the BBC also commissioning a 15th and 16th series.

Who are the candidates?

The candidates have now been officially revealed and the line-up is a mixed bunch from a biscuit heir to a wannabe Wolf of Wall Street.
