There are not many movies out there where most of the main characters are finished off long before the end of the movie, but Netflix smash Bird Box is one such vehicle that pays scant respect to the big names that are in the cast.
Sandra Bullock may have been one of the lucky ones to make it through the whole two hours but she gets there pretty much alone.
Viewers have labelled the psychological thriller 'the most frightening they've ever watched' and with more than 45 million people streaming the film in its first seven days, it has become the smash hit of the Christmas holidays.

It shows a post-apocalyptic world in which you have to wear a blindfold at all times to avoid meeting your maker in a very nasty fashion.
With Bird Box giving countless viewers nightmares, it was the nature of how the characters were bumped off that sent chills down the spines of many.
So, this is how the main characters were finished off and it was not a pretty sight for the most part.

Jessica (Sarah Paulson) - crashes car after seeing the creatures and stands in front of a speeding truck.
Greg (BD Wong) - killed himself against stone skirting after seeing the creatures on CCTV.
Charlie (Lil Rel Howery) - killed by a crazed co-worker, in order to save others.
Douglas (John Malkovich) - killed by Greg, who stabs him in the chest with scissors after they crash through the stair bannisters.
Olympia (Danielle Macdonald) - killed by Greg, after being exposed to the creatures.
Cheryl (Jacki Weaver) - killed by Greg, after being exposed to the creatures.
Gary (Tom Hollander) - shot by Tom.
Tom (Trevante Rhodes) - shoots himself in the head after seeing the creatures.
Lydia (Rebecca Pidgeon) - gets into a burning car after seeing the creatures.
There were countless others that met their maker in a variety of nasty ways but didn't get the chance to utter a word on screen before being killed off.
