Cilla Black's plea for help from Christopher Biggins the night her husband died

Christopher Biggins appeared on Loose Women to talk about his dear friend Cilla Black on the fifth anniversary of her death

Christopher Biggins revealed the late Cilla Black called him the night her husband died for help.

Christopher and Linda La Plante appeared on Loose Women and spoke to Ranvir Singh, Janet Street Porter and Gloria Hunniford, amid the fifth anniversary of Cilla's death due to a stroke.

They both spoke of how reliant Cilla was on her husband Bobby Willis, and that she was at a loss when he died in 1999.

"She was just wonderful we were best friends from the moment we met," he gushed.

Gloria said Bobby was "the backbone of Cilla" and "made sure she was treated like a star".

"She was so devastated when he died," said Christopher.

"I remember going to see him when he was dying, and it was so sad because you could see in his eyes that he was not going to be around for much longer.

"And then when he died she was totally... He did everything for her, he would even go to the hairdressers with her, he paid for everything.
