Professional skater Matt Evers talked back to John Barrowman live on Dancing On Ice tonight after the judge criticised their performance.

The duo were keen to impress after landing in the skate-off last week and gave their all to their Jazz-inspired routine to Fever by Michael Buble.

However they were left a little disappointed, despite receiving their highest score of 29.5.

After the results were read out, Steps singer H told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: "We worked hard and we've had a ball and it was a shock to the system."

Asked how he thought the performance went, John said: "The one criticism for me, and it's simple - it wasn't edgy enough. That's why I didn't go higher than 7.5."

When the audience began booing him, Matt looked perplexed as he asked: "Edgy like what, John?"

John replied: "When you were hitting the moves together, you were hitting them really precise and H's were a little smooth.

"That's my only criticism. But your skating was good."

Matt didn't seem too happy and viewers were left cringing at the awkward moment.

One tweeted: "Matt Evers not happy with the judges critiques #DancingOnIce."

While another commented: "#DancingOnIce Matt questioning john it was boring."
