Dancing on Ice's Patsy stuns in Spice Girl tribute to star who almost took EastEnders role

The remaining Dancing on Ice celebrities and their professional partners returned to the ice once again to perform a series of routines inspired by music icons

Dancing on Ice: Patsy Palmer impresses with Spice Girls inspired dance

Dancing on Ice star Patsy Palmer was back with gusto on the ice rink this Sunday after she landed in the dreaded skate-off last weekend.

The remaining celebrities and their professional partners returned to the ice once again to perform a series of routines inspired by music icons, with Patsy choosing the Spice Girls.

They were under the watchful eyes of ice skating royalty Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as well as Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse on the fearsome judging panel.

In the short VT before Patsy took to the ice with Matt Evers, the ITV show played a message from Emma Bunton.

Patsy then revealed the Spice Girl star nearly nabbed the role of Bianca Jackson in EastEnders, but ultimately lost out to Patsy before she went on to join the iconic girl group.

Patsy then hit the ice in a smock, which was soon ripped off to reveal she was wearing the iconic Union Jack dress worn by fellow redhead Geri Halliwell at the 1997 Brit Awards.

The couple gave an energetic performance of their routine to the Spice Girls’ hit Spice Up Your Life and were ultimately awarded 26.5 points by the judges.

One star who was not taking part this weekend was Siva Kaneswaran, who was forced to pull out of this live show due to illness.

In a statement, the ITV dancing show confirmed that The Wanted star would not be performing this weekend, but is set to return next week.

A spokesperson told the Mirror: "Due to illness Siva will not skate in this weekend's show. We look forward to welcoming him back next weekend."

While Siva said: "I'm gutted that I won't be performing this weekend but I picked up a bug earlier in the week which I haven’t been able to shake so I need to rest and get myself better.

"Good luck to all the contestants this weekend - I'm looking forward to watching everyone's performances!"

Siva also shared a video message on his Instagram account from bed as he looked incredibly tired and shared his heartbreak at being unable to perform.

He revealed that he was suffering from a viral infection in his chest that has just "got worse and worse" and he "can't shake it".

In a gravelly voice, he said: "I just want to say that I'm so gutted that I can't perform this weekend. I got a viral infection in my chest and it just got worse and worse. I just can't shake it.
