Funboys is a new BBC comedy about three young men in a small town
A new comedy from Northern Ireland full of comedy talent, is set to hit our screens next month.
Funboys, a fresh BBC show about three emotionally-unassembled lads in small-town Northern Ireland, is the brainchild of BAFTA-award-winning producer Simon Mayhew-Archer, known for his work on This Country.
Filmed and set in Northern Ireland with backing from Northern Ireland Screen, the show adopts a "fly-on-the-wall approach, prioritising authentic, naturalistic comedy" while delving into contemporary themes such as male vulnerability, religious dogma and more.
Wales Online reports the series first debuted as a comedy short film in 2023 and the series will be broadcast on BBC NI, BBC Three, BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

What is the plot of Funboys?
The official synopsis for the new BBC series reads: "Funboys sees pals Callum (Ryan Dylan), Jordan (Rian Lennon) and Lorcan (Lee R James) trying to navigate life's challenges.
"From first girlfriends to deceased pet pigs, the boys are put through an emotional wringer.
"But will their shared love of innocent fun and wholesome messing around land them in trouble?
Penned by Rian Lennon and Ryan Dylan, the story writer and executive producer is Simon Mayhew-Archer, the director is Rian Lennon and the producer is Leah Draws.
The comedy series was commissioned by Jon Petrie, Director of Comedy, and Eddie Doyle, BBC Northern Ireland's Head of Commissioning. The commissioners for the BBC are Navi Lamba and Seb Barwell, with Mary McKeagney serving as Commissioning Editor for BBC Northern Ireland.
When will Funboys be released and how many episodes are there?
Funboys launches on BBC One NI at 11.10pm on Monday, February 10 and BBC Three on Friday, February 14 at 10pm. All four episodes will also be box set on BBC iPlayer.
Funboys will comprise four episodes, each clocking in at around 30 minutes. All episodes will be available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
Who appears in the cast of Funboys?
Leading the series are Ryan Dylan, Rian Lennon and Lee R James and are all relatively fresh faces in the acting world.
The supporting cast boasts local talent and some familiar comedy stars including Jamie Demetriou from Stath Lets Flats and Barbie, Ele McKenzie from Everyone Else Burns, Brian Devlin from Kneecap, and Owen Colgan.
Also joining the cast are Paul Bazely, Richard Croxford, Emer O'Connor, Amanda Hurwitz, James Martin, Vanessa Ifediora, Walter Chigui and Brendan Quinn.
