ITV’s Trigger Point release date and cast as Vicky McClure ‘ditches make-up and bra’

Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure is set to return to screens this weekend with Trigger Point, a thrilling new six part drama for ITV which focuses on the Met Police bomb disposal squad

Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure is set to return to our screens this weekend in Trigger Point - a thrilling new six part drama for ITV.

The high-octane series will follow bomb disposal operative Lana Washington, played by Vicky, alongside colleague Joel Nutkins, played by Adrian Lester.

The series focuses on the Metropolitan Police bomb disposal squad and counter terrorism unit confronting an imminent terrorist threat in the City of London over the summer.

Vicky, 38, has said she wanted to stress that “you don't really need make-up” while inhabiting the role of Lana for the new drama.

She told the Radio Times she ditched make-up and an “actual” bra while filming Trigger Point, as she said her character “didn't make a big deal about the way she looks”.

She said: “I wore a crop top instead of an actual bra. She is real and human.”

On her thought process behind the decision, she said: “I do feel a slight sense of responsibility. There is so much pressure on people, especially via social media.

“I would like to put some kind of message out there, showing people that you don't really need make-up.
