One resembled a game of KerPlunk, another drew comparisons to an abacus, and more than one have looked unfortunately similar to a bondage gag.

Now Prue Leith is in discussions to launch her own range of necklaces.

Bake Off fans have delighted in making copies of Prue’s odd neck attire out of pipe cleaners and cable ties, but pretty soon they’ll be able to purchase her very own designs.

“I am quite interested in launching my own necklace range,” she says.

“I have been offered to do it by manufacturers... I want to do it.”

Presumably, the range will be cheap.

“I have about 200 necklaces with the total value of £50.

The people who make the ones I wear are a very tiny company,” said Prue, 78, speaking at an event to launch her new cookbook, Prue: My All Time Favourite Recipes.

However she anticipates her book will sell fewer copies than The Body Coach Joe Wicks’ latest offering.

“Joe has completely corrupted what publishers expect,” says Prue with an eyeroll. “If I do a quarter of [his sales] I will be happy.”

Her publishers not so much.
