The Script make dreams come true for six young patients from hospice

The surprise meeting made the Tennents Vital gig even better for the friends who got to chat with their musical heroes Danny, Mark and Glen before the show

Six young Northern Ireland Hospice patients entered The Script’s Hall Of Fame when they met their singing idols.

Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power were gearing up for their appearance at Tennents Vital last weekend when they decided to create a few smiles from some very avid fans, reports Belfast Live.

The six teenagers – Marc Biggar, Michael Ward, Patrick Kelly, Stephen Hook, Susan Glover and Brendan Casey – each got to meet their musical heroes backstage and captured the moment with photos and autographs.

The friends were attending an NI Hospice teenage weekend at the time and topped it off with an hour of fun before the big show.

Patrick Kelly was of course wearing his The Script T-shirt.

Hilary Maguire, Northern Ireland Hospice clinical services manager said of Patrick: "He chatted to the guys in the band as if he’d known them for years, and got his cap autographed.

"Patrick sang every single word of every song in the concert; it was a joy to watch him enjoy himself so much.

"The young patients were taking part in a Teenage Weekend, which sees them gather for a social experience they can share and enjoy.

"They are all fans of The Script and were keen to go to the concert in Belfast.

“They had no idea they were going to be meeting the band so it was a big surprise for them.

"The organisation, reception and generosity of The Script, MCD and all the staff at Tennent’s Vital were exceptional. This is an occasion the children will always cherish."
