Separate hair into two sections. Take a small strand from the back of one section.

Cross over to the opposite section. Repeat this pattern for two stitches. Take a piece from the next section, and go under that section, into the other side. Repeat for two stitches. Continue the braid pattern with two regular fishtail stitches and two reverse stitches.
