The octopus haircut, those jellyfish layers, the wolf cut — the list goes on and on. However, the latest animal-themed beauty look taking social media by storm is one we never saw coming: octopus eyebrows.

The trend, which first went viral on TikTok, typically involves dividing your brows into two parts and then shaping them into what looks like squiggly lines. While the clip has racked up 12 million views and well over a million likes, the comments show that people are clearly divided. So, are octopus eyebrows worth adding to your beauty routine? As for why they're trending in the first place, Reynolds says she thinks it's because they embody the fearless spirit of modern beauty. "In a world where creativity knows no limits, octopus eyebrows offer a bold, whimsical twist that turns heads and sparks conversations."

One thing we've noticed when browsing examples of the trend on social media is that the bigger and bolder your natural brows are, the more you'll have to work with when creating octopus eyebrows. We have seen the look with thinner arches as well, but it seems this offers less surface area to experiment with. Having laminated eyebrows would also make the look easier to achieve, but it isn't totally necessary.

Prep Your Brows: Reynolds suggests starting with a full, natural brow, and applying a brow gel that doesn't set too quickly so you can ensure you have enough time to style. Part the Hair: From there, use a brow brush or a comb and part your eyebrow horizontally down the middle from the core to the tail.

Section the Bottom Half: Next, Reynolds says you'll want to take the bottom half of the brow hairs and divide them into small sections.

Style in Waves: "Style each small section in a slight wave-like manner, alternating left and right to create a fluid, tentacle-like appearance."

Repeat for the Top Half: Repeat the process on the top half of the eyebrow. Reynolds says you'll want to take special care to make sure the waves on the bottom and the top complement each other.

Final Touches: Reynolds says you can adjust the top and bottom halves as needed in order to create a balanced and cohesive look. "The end result should resemble the graceful legs of an octopus," she says.
