High school student Shea Glover proved that for some, simply hearing "you're beautiful" is challenging to believe. She embarked on an independent project, for which she chose to film people in whom she saw beauty. However, when she approached her classmates to let them know why they were selected to be on camera, her project turned into a social experiment.

As she spoke those simple words to her peers, their reactions varied from coy, timid thank-yous to a few reluctant smiles. Some even shrieked in disbelief, calling the film project a joke — as if they weren't worthy of being called beautiful.
