You'll Never Guess the 1 Thing Kate Hudson Always Has in Her Purse

Kate Hudson appears in the December/January issue of Harper's Bazaar's, and she's talking about everything from jumpsuits to Lego men. Although Kate recently opened up about her split from Matthew Bellamy, her new interview focuses a bit more on her life as a single woman. Although the actress has been spotted on a handful of recent outings with Nick Jonas (and she even blushed while talking about him on Watch What Happens Live), the fact that she has flown solo at so many events in the past few weeks suggests she's doing just fine all by herself. On being single for the first time in five years: "It’s nice to get acquainted with myself alone. You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It’s to try to stay in the relationship. But if it doesn’t work, you can’t force things.”
On missing her kids when she's busy: "I think a lot of people, especially when you’re a woman, you have kids, and work on movies, it’s hard because you’re away from them. There’s nothing lazy about it. You go to work, get on the first plane home even if it’s for eight hours, go back to work. I don’t want to be away from my family, I love it so much. I just enjoy being on movie sets."

On what she always has in her purse: "I always have Lego men in my purse. When I’m traveling and I’m not with my kids, I look in my purse and there are, like, five Lego men."
On jumpsuits: "It’s a dress but a little bit more . . . comfy! I’m very lucky that Stella McCartney is one of my best girlfriends, so at least once a year I get a new jumpsuit as a gift. I wear a lot of Stella."
