Facebook's New App Might Actually Be Better Than Snapchat
First Timehop, now Snapchat . . . Facebook is taking on all of your favorite apps. With its launch of the new Riff app, the social network lets you make videos up to 20 seconds long, but unlike Snapchat, the app also lets your friends add to that video. How exactly does it work?
"Anyone can start by creating a video. All you have to do is give it a topic, like #AprilFools, then your friends can view it and choose to add their own clips on that topic," said Facebook product manager Josh Miller in a press release about Riff. "Once a friend adds a clip to your video, your friend's friends will also be shown the video in Riff and will be able to add to it. The potential pool of creative collaborators can grow exponentially from there, so a short video can become an inventive project between circles of friends that you can share to Facebook, or anywhere on the internet, at any time."
Sounds cool, right? Check out this example (in GIF form, of course), and then make your own creations with Riff, which is now available for Android and iOS devices.
