There's a New Way to Get Weed Without Leaving Your House

Can it get much higher than this? Sidecar is now offering same-day delivery of marijuana for customers in San Francisco.

Announced Tuesday, Sidecar is partnering with on-demand weed startup Meadow to provide the new feature. Citing California medical marijuana laws, Sidecar is within legal boundaries to operate its latest new feature.

Like many on-demand services, it works pretty simply: order through Meadow's website, and drivers with medical marijuana cards will pick your order up from a dispensary vetted by Meadow. You can order up to one ounce of weed (or four orders), and it'll be kept in a locked box till it reaches your doorstep. The driver, who has to join the dispensary, will also vet customers and make sure they are certified medical marijuana card holders. You pay for both the weed and the delivery via Meadow; same-day service starts at $5 and one-hour starts at $7.50. While Sidecar isn't the first company to offer on-demand weed, it's definitely making a huge splash in partnering with Meadow and continuing to grow its delivery options.

Currently, Sidecar delivery is available for other services (like food and flowers) via retailers in Seattle, LA, San Diego, Chicago, Boston, Brooklyn, and SF. "In this new world of on-demand services, SideCar wants to be FedEx, and we think we're very well positioned to grab that position," said Sunil Paul, CEO of Sidecar, to CNET.

Consider yourself lucky if you live in SF and are a medical marijuana card holder — you no longer have to wait too long to get your kush.
